Biblia Chora Ovilos white 2012

(95)

An even greater bottle compared to the one I have tasted in the Four Terroirs tasting few months ago. See my note below on that. No sign of fatigue, absolutely no sign of oxidation. Pure herbal aromas, honeysuckle, quince and tropical fruit with a kiss of oak on the nose. Complete, layered and creamy but with a fresh vein of acid cutting the wine's full body. Long lingering finish. With one word: Great.

(Four terroirs tasting, 50% Assyrtiko, 50% Semillon matured in oak for few months). Exotic, sensual with lovely oak integration wrapped around a core of herbal and stone fruit aromas. Pure, complex and layered this is the best mature white Ovilos I have tasted and one of the most complete whites of the country. Lives up to its legend as the Greek Pessac-Leognan. March 2019
